Denplan's BIG SUMMER BRUSH UP
Denplan are spending this summer surveying the nation's children's brushing techniques, and finding the difficulties parents are having getting their children to actually brush.
Dentists recommend children to brush twice a day using a fluoride toothpaste for two minutes a time, denplan's aim of the summer is to find out how many of the nations kids actually do!

This month, it is Mouth Cancer Action Month (http://www.mouthcancer.org/). This is a charity organisation which aims to raise awareness and therefore save lives with early detection and prevention of oral cancer.
It is very important to have regular check ups as this is one of the things Dr Burgess looks for during your appointment.

Our girls have been busy carving pumpkins to decorate our reception area, we think it's terrifying!
Remember all, just because it's Halloween doesn't mean you won't get cavities from all those sweets. Try to limit the amount you and your kids eat or you'll be seeing us a lot more often over the next few months. And if that's not terrifying, we don't know what is!
If you do get a lot of sweets today, try and eat them all in one day rather than spread them out over a few days - limit the time your teeth are exposed to the sugar!

By lowering your child's intake of sugary foods and drinks this shocking statistic can be avoided.
Fruit juices are a good source of fruit (1 of your 5 a day) but limit them to just meal times to avoid tooth exposure to sugar.
