New beginings 2022...

This year we have welcomed two new starters at Rocky Lane Dental Practice. We have the lovely Kirsty Kelly, who is our new Dental Hygienist. Kirsty will be working Monday’s 10am-7pm for all your hygiene needs, such as scale and polishing, whitening and periodontal treatments. Kirsty has a vast amount of hygiene experience within in the Wirral area and we’re so happy to have her as part of our team.

The next new starter this year is our dental nurse Faye. Faye has been dental nursing for 5 years and completed her dental nurse training in Cardiff. Faye has settled in very well and we’re happy to have her on board the Rocky Lane team.

COVID vaccine

As a practice we are feeling rather pleased that we have all received our first dose of the vaccine today. We are looking forward to a time when we can resume working in a normal way. In the meantime we will continue to provide the care and attention our patients need in a covid secure way

3rd Lockdown

Following the announcement by government putting the country into a 3rd lockdown, we would like to reassure our patients that we are intending to stay open and see you as normally as possible. We now have all the PPE to keep you and our staff safe during your visit. This is a great improvement on the first lockdown when it was impossible to get any due to under supply.

Please continue to follow our protocols by completing your pre-visit forms in your personal portal sent with your appointment reminders. Keep social distancing when in the practice and should you experience any symptoms or receive a positive test, please cancel your appointment and only rebook your visit when you are negative again.

Oral Health Care

We hope you are well and keeping safe in these unprecedented times.

As many of you are aware, we are no longer able to provide routine dental treatment due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Here at Rocky Lane Dental Practice, we would like to provide you with some general oral health advice to help keep your teeth, gums and oral health in top condition until we can see each other again:

• Brush your teeth twice a day with Fluoride toothpaste for at least 2 minutes at a time, to keep your teeth and mouth healthy

• Floss or use interdental brushes every day to remove food, debris and plaque that may have become lodged between your teeth

• Try to avoid sugary foods and drinks as much as possible. Try some healthier alternatives when snacking such as popcorn, cheese and plain yogurt

• Drink more water. This can help wash out some of the negative effects of sticky and acidic foods and beverages in between brushes

To all our patients, we hope you are keeping well. Although we are unable to see you face to face during ‘lockdown’ we are still answering the phone Monday to Friday during usual surgery hours. Please call if you need any advice or if you have a problem with your teeth as we will prioritise you as soon as the crisis has passed.

Denplan - Essentials is a payment plan which covers your basic preventive dental needs. Regular check-ups and hygiene visits are important as they could help you to avoid having to undergo costly and complex dental treatment. 2x 30 minute hygiene appointments (6 monthly visits)

• Mouth cancer cover with up to £12,000 towards treatment for up to 18 months following diagnosis (this is also available for smokers)
